AgeLab LogoIn 2019 Five Star Senior Living partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) AgeLab as a member of the C3 Connected Home Logistics Consortium to stay on the cutting edge of developments in home services for seniors. With this partnership, we're signaling our commitment to researching new technologies and dedication to bringing tools and improvements into our communities to help make life easier, safer, and more independent for our residents.

As a member of the C3 Consortium, Five Star is helping fund research into how domestic life is changing with the advent of new technologies, interconnected devices, and services, and how they can be utilized to improve connectivity, convenience, and care (C3) in our daily lives. As we collaborate with the MIT AgeLab on the most important and emergent topics and trends to research, we will be poised to capitalize on cutting-edge discoveries and developments to help us better care for our residents.

Results from a recent study on working caregivers and the time spent providing assistance on a range of different tasks over a three month period. Researchers hope to use this information to guide further studies into caregivers and their needs.

Whether it's a reminder to take a pill, a device that can detect falls, or just making it easier for residents to use ride-sharing apps like Uber or Lyft to get to where they need to go, Five Star is most interested in new technologies that can help the growing senior population be more safe, independent, and connected to friends, family, and caregivers.
